白丸（◯）は，強い強勢を表しています。黒丸（.）は，弱い強勢を表しています。大きな黒丸と矢印（● ↗，↘） は，核強勢を表しています。

ローリングウッドボックスⅡの内容を一部変更しました。

“What do you want to watch? I want to watch rugby.”
“Do you watch wrestling? Yes, I do.”

上記の2文を，以下に変更しました。

“Where did you go? I went to the sea.”
“What time do you eat dinner? I usually eat dinner at 7:00.”

令和6年度に教科書改訂があり，元々用いていた英文が光村図書出版の新教科書ではなくなったため，ゲームで用いる英文を新教科書に合わせました。
“What time do you eat dinner? I usually eat dinner at 7:00.” については，スタータッチゲームⅡで， “What time do you get up? I get up at five.” の表現を既に入れていましたが，時間の表現が5年生から6年生に変更になったこと，副詞 “usually” を入れたかったことから，新しく加えました。
変更前と異なることを明らかにするため，トップページには「2.1」の表記を入れています。

また，ローリングウッドボックスの内容を一部修正しました。
“What date is it? It’s the tenth of June.”
イラストが1月10日になっていましたので，6月10日に修正しました。

3年生で行ったゲームです。
Let’s Try! 1 には “How are you?” のあいさつに対して， “I’m fine.” “I’m sleepy.” “I’m happy.” “I’m hungry.” の4つの返答が取り上げられています。これらの表現を用いて，簡単なゲームをしました。

まずは，動きを練習させます。

“I’m fine.” → 右手でグーを作り，手を上げます。片手でのガッツポーズです。
“I’m sleepy.” → パーにした両手を合わせ，少し首をかしげた顔の横につけて，寝ている状態を表現します。
“I’m happy!” → 両手でグーを作り，バンザイをします。両手でのガッツポーズです。
“I’m hungry.” → 両手でおなかを押さえ，空腹を表現します。

ゲームの仕方です。
児童がペアになり，対面になります。
互いに手を3回叩きながら， “How are you?” と言い合います。
その直後， “I’m fine.” などと声を出しながら，練習した動きをします。2人が同時に，同じ表現をすれば勝ちです。

とてもシンプルですが盛り上がり，何度も繰り返し遊ぶ様子が見られました。遊びを通して，表現を定着させることができました。

“When is your birthday?” の表現では，児童が自分の誕生日を英語で答えられるよう，指導をします。
「月」についてですが，英語では日本語の「1月」「2月」のように数字を用いて表現せず，月ごとに名前があるので，フラッシュカードやチャンツを活用して繰り返し練習に取り組ませます。

「日」についてですが， “st” “nd” “rd” “th” を整理すると理解しやすくなります。

「ファーストの仲間」「セカンドの仲間」「サードの仲間」「thの仲間」の4グループに分けると分かりやすいです。

また，発音の例外も押さえておきます。
“5th” → “five-th” ではなく， “fifth”
“20th” → “twenty-th” ではなく， “twentieth” (“e” が入ります)
“25th” → “twenty-five-th” ではなく， “twenty-fifth”
“30th” → “thirty-th” ではなく， “thirtieth” (“e” が入ります)

まずは，児童に自分の誕生日を言えるよう，指導します。
そして，児童が互いの誕生日を伝え合う中で，様々な月日の言い方に慣れていくことができます。

Los Angeles Dodgers (ロサンジェルスドジャース) の “Dodgers” は， “dodge” （よける）に由来しています。

ドジャースは，ニューヨークのブルックリンで誕生した球団です。1890年，ナショナルリーグにデビューしたときのニックネームは，結婚したばかりのプレーヤーが多かったことから “Bridegrooms” でした。この年，いきなり優勝します。
やがて，ブルックリンの街中を，迷路を走るように複雑な路線を持っていた路面電車から， “Trolley Dodgers” との愛称がつき，それが “Dodgers” へと変わったそうです。
現在は本拠地を移し，ロサンジェルスの球団となっています。

小学校で人気のドッジボール (dodgeball） は，ボールをよけることに由来しています。ドッジボールとドジャースには，意外な繋がりがありますね。

大リーグでは，7回裏の攻撃前にホームチームが “Take me out of the ball game” を合唱します。Here We Go! 6 では，この曲が教材として扱われています。
歌詞の中でホームチームのチーム名が歌われますが，どのチームでもリズムが合います。考えてみれば，大リーグのチーム名はほとんどのチームが2音節ですので，リズムよく歌えます。
3音節の球団は “Guardians” や “Cardinals” “Athletics” がありますが，3音節でもリズムが合います。逆に1音節では “Braves” や “Rays” “Reds” がありますが，母音を伸ばすことでリズムが合います。
音節数が長そうなのは「ダイヤモンドバックス」ですが， “Diamondbacks” の “Diamond” （ダイヤモンド）は，2音節です。辞書によって3音節で記述されているものもありますが，OALDで確認すると2音節，LDOCEで音を確認すると2音節でした。従って，「ダイヤモンドバックス」も3音節の球団のようです。ただ，“Take me out of the ball game” で歌うときは省略して “Dbacks” と歌われるようです。
ちなみに，「ダイヤモンドバックス」とは，アリゾナ州に生息するダイヤガラガラヘビだそうです。

道案内をする単元では，教室内に町を再現し，実際に身体を動かして道案内をさせます。

タスクカードを使った授業では，教師の思いもよらない「道案内」の様子が見られました。

エピソード1
「トイレットペーパーを買いたい」とのお題に，案内役が「大型ショッピングセンター」に案内したら， “No” との返事。理由は，「ドラッグストアの方が安いから」でした（「大型ショッピングセンター」も，「ドラッグストア」も，どちらも地図に入れていました）。

エピソード2
「勉強したい」とのお題に，「学校」ではなく「喫茶店」を案内したら “No” との返事。理由は，「コーヒーチェーン店の方が好きだから」（「学校」も「喫茶店」も「コーヒーチェーン店」も，全て地図に入れていました）。

エピソード3
タブレット型端末を使っていない案内役が，ずっと案内に成功。理由は，「コンビニの場所だけ覚えて，コンビニに連れて行ければどのお題でもうまくいくから」。

エピソード4
「先生に会いたい」のお題に，「学校」ではなく，教卓に案内した案内役がいました。「本当に先生がいるところ」との理由で，迷子役は “Thank you!” と満足していました。

“What do you want to be?” の答えとして，児童が挙げた職業を記載します。バラエティに富んでいて，驚きました。

発表をさせる際， “I can …” “I like …” “ I’m good at …” 等の既習文と合わせて文を作らせます。
その際のポイントです。

“I want to be …” と “I like …” は内容が近くなりがちです。
(e.g.) “I want to be a baseball player. I like baseball.”
ですので， “I like” は好きな選手等の方が話が膨らみます。
(e.g.) “I want to be a baseball player. I like Ohtani Shohei.”

“I can …” と “I’m good at …” も内容が近くなりがちです。
(e.g.) “I can play baseball well. I’m good at playing baseball.”
“I’m good at …” は，職業に関連する教科名を入れることができます。
(e.g.) “I can play baseball well. I’m good at P.E.”

その他，vet なら “I have (want) a dog.” civil servant なら “I like 〇〇.” （自分の居住地），また， “I want to study hard.” “I want to help people.” 等も使いやすい表現です。
